Solution

HAVI designed a paperboard clamshell with a front-facing “waterfall” window that can operate on automated filling and packing lines while withstanding freezing, storing and distribution as well as storage, thawing and reheating. The design enables easy closing at the bakery and easy opening and re-closing for the consumer.

Efficiencies and Savings

By designing a clamshell that allows pre-packaging, the QSR gained efficiencies, decreased product handling and improved service times. By consolidating different bakeries’ spend, HAVI could offer lower pricing for the clamshells.

Waste Reduction

The pre-made frozen product can be stored for a longer period of time eliminating fresh product waste that occurs with baked goods.
